ABU is overpriced Posted November 14, 2024 Posted November 14, 2024 Why don't we have one? I know they've just announced the Scorpion MD, but that's a Scorpion, not a fan. The current Bantam is solid, compact and smooth. A 200, 250 or a 300 size Bantam frame could be an amazing swimbait reel, but we don't have one for some reason. If they were to make one, its the only reel i see competing with my Z2020. Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted November 15, 2024 Super User Posted November 15, 2024 I like my Scorpion 300 MD. Goodluck on your demand. Quote

If after all this time it hasn't happened, it won't happen. They probably don't want to do it because if they were to release one in 200 size, nobody would even consider the antares md. Quote
FrnkNsteen Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Maybe they figure it is already covered by the Tranx series of reels? 3 Quote

You have a answer for everything so why ask ? Everyone knows you can't catch em without that glassy feel. Quote
Hulkster Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I agree. the 70 and 150 size reels are not good for all purpose fishing, they are too small. Or even bank fishing where you make really long casts. Quote

When you have a choice between an ultra smooth reel, and another that is just "fine", the choice is simple. Quote
Alex from GA Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I have a 300 Bantam 100 if you need it. I think it's a 4.7:1 ratio. 1 Quote
Maverick2017 Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Bantam is a great all around reel at 150 size. If you need a 200 or 300 you have the Curado and Tranx lines to bridge the gap for heavier duty, swim-bait/glide bait techniques. Quote
Fishingmickey Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 Heck Abu, Just fork over the dough for a Calcutta Conquest 200 - 300 and be done with it. Or heaven forbid get a Diawa Lexa! Oh the irony and agony of making a decision. If you want the inside skinny find a used Curado 300E or EJ. The old school Curado greenie! FM Quote

That's the thing, just like the Tatula 300, they're just too bottom of the barrel to me. I want something higher end, and the Bantam seems perfect for a 300 size. 3 hours ago, Fishingmickey said: Heck Abu, Just fork over the dough for a Calcutta Conquest 200 - 300 and be done with it. FM I have had the calcut300 a few years back. Good reel, but much prefered my Z2020 for anything heavy, so i sold it. Looking for something high end and low profile. Quote
