I would like to see what most prefer for soft plastic storage. Do you keep them in their original packages, or do you remove them and put them in boxes like plano 3700? I have tried both and each way seems to have it's own pros and cons. I have also tried the bags in those binders, but for me they don't seem to store as neatly. So lets hear your preferred soft plastics storage? thanks.

Original bags or bait bags purchased HERE - then stashed into Plano 3707-10 or 3607-10 single compartment boxes by type - Senkos in one, curly tail worms in another, craws in another, etc.

As a co angler I have no choice but to conserve space so I use the boxes.
I divide them horizontally

I store my bulk plastics in their original bags, stored at home in a closet inside cheap dollar store plastic bins with lids.

While fishing I store my plastics in plano boxes. I play between the sealed boxes and thin boxes in 3600 size, and using a double sided 3500 box.

Zman plastics will warp the boxes. They will melt other plastics if stored in the same section ie Touching. I generally store zman in their original package, but sometimes in their own section in a plano box.

Whether bank, boat, or kayak i use a small bag from Walmart that costs $20.

Its called Okeechobee Fats, it doesnt take up much room, and holds either 20-40 bags of soft plastics, or 10-20 soft plastics and 2 3600 sized tackle trays with lures. Has a front pocket i use for tools but other plastics can fit. 2 side bags i use to put smaller packs of soft plastics in or extra spools of line.

I have tried many many ways of storing soft plastics, this was the best (for me).

It takes me 20 seconds or less to open the bag and switch plastics, i dont have to dig through 10 containers, and theres no colors running from the heat of summer (like if they were in a tackle tray).

Original, sorted by type in $1.99 plastic file folders from staples.  They last longer than zip locks. You can buy the good clear folder style fishing bags from BP, TW, etc for 4x the price but my boat stays dry so I don’t bother.

I keep everything in original packaging, my extras I keep in small Tupperware tote in the shop. When I’m fishing, Plano speed bags they still stay in original bags.

Both for me. In the kayak I am limited on space. And early season I don’t fish plastics as much as mid to late season. But there is a small amount of plastics that I need to have all season whether it’s paddle tails (jig head, trailer, etc)

, rage bugs (jig trailers, wobble head, Texas rig, chatterbait trailer), or some other core plastics that I could use at any time. They all go in one 3700 box.  I keep the type of plastic the same but colors mixed.  I go through them fast enough that color bleed isn’t a big deal.  Then, I have two KVD speed bags that have more types of plastics and more colors of the same shapes in the box.

This is all in addition to my 3600 with sonar minnow baits and a 3700 thick (2 compartment) that has all of my Ned gear. The sonar minnow box is always with me. The Ned box depends on the lake and time of year (and if I’m carrying a rod to throw it).

Original packages thrown in a milk crate under the console.  I don't use many colors or sizes so they don't get too mixed up.

I keep them in their original package and those go in a Flambeau Super Half Satchel marked with the style of plastic bait inside.  The four I regularly carry take up a lot of space, but as I am usually alone, space isn't much of a concern.  Prior to employing them, I'd take them out of their packaging and place them in a 3700 size Plano.  I ended up not knowing what color I was running short on as my visaion is color compromized.......Watermellon and green pumpkin look way too much alike for me to tell the difference without the package label.

What’s your most common size bag?

Original packages stored in $1.50 plastic shoe boxes, also when fishing store some in a ziploc bag and the original packages that fit into my tackle boxes.

6x4 - fits 5" stick worms and pretty anything that's 5" or less in length. 4x4 is my other main size for my finesse baits. Those two cover 90% of all my plastics.

A problem I've been trying to solve for years. I think I've finally landed on the solution that works for me.

I keep the plastics in their original packaging and put them in heavy duty zippered bags I got for cheap off Amazon. I debated between sorting by brand or type of bait and decided its easier to find what I need when sorted by type of bait. So I have a bag for craws, creature baits, bugs, beavers, senkos, finesse worms, mag worms, flukes, pintails, ned/drop shot baits, paddletails, etc. Then I have one bag as my "day bag" where I put the baits/colors I expect I may rotate through that day. I legitimately carry 50+ pounds of plastics in my 1448 and can find the specific one I need in about 30 seconds or less every time.

This system also makes it very easy to empty the tackle out of my boat if I'm fishing the saltwater and don't want to risk salt intrusion to my bass tackle.

I have tried many hard sided storage solutions and am not a fan of how much space gets wasted in my boat. This system allows me to utilize nearly every inch of the tacke storage on my boat.

I do this too. Backup packages are kept in bulk boxes by type ( Tubes, 4" Sticks, 5" Sticks, Craws, Flukes, etc etc).

While fishing, I break down my common colors in various Plano boxes by type so I can fit things nearly in my front center compartment and I refill as necessary when I get home. On trips I bring whatever bulk boxes I may need for daily restocking.

If I am taking the bag with the 3700 boxes then I leave the plastics in the packages.  If I am fishing with the smaller bags then I put the plastics in the box and when I get back home I put the plastics back in their packages.

Mixed "system" here.

I keep everything in original packing.  Blister packs (Rage and Keitech mostly) go in shoebox sized totes.

Bagged worms, senkos, grubs, flukes, etc... in a few of the Flambeau Half Satchels.

I like the KVD Speedbags for things like NED and Dropshot stuff - my drop shot baits are only for drop shot, NED baits only used to fish NED rigs, etc...I'm also able to segregate technique specific jig heads, hooks, weights, leader into those bags so its a grab and go deal for the whole application.

I carry mine in ziplocs stored in LL Bean backpacks. Blue pack is smallmouth, red is largemouth. Rarely do I fish a lake with both and I throw on the backpack when I'm a passenger in my buddy's Ranger.

Depends on where I am going and whose boat I am in, mine or someone else’s.  In my boat I have boxes dedicated to 1 bait (Senkos for example) and it will contain multiple colors and sizes.  It will hold enough for multiple trips and I restock it as necessary from my home storage bins where they are all stored in original bags by type.  I found a Plano box that is double sided and it is great, otherwise regular Planos work fine.  If I’m in someone else’s boat, I will pair down my plastic numbers/colors and mix and match in Planos to conserve space.
