Jsher19038 Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Hey everyone. Was recently doing a lot of reading about fall bass fishing on this forum and decided to join. I’ve always fished all spring and summer. Never really focused on or spent much time fall fishing. With two small kids my time fishing has been more limited so I’ve been extending it by fishing this fall with some success. I’ve been fishing some local lakes for largemouth. I’ve gained a lot of insight from this page. I’ll be headed out tomorrow. Fishing a lake where last week we got some decent bass on swim baits through weeds and chatterbaits in open water. I wanted to try something new to fish these weed beds with. Lake is no boats or kayaks so we wade and fish 3-6 feet of water. I am giving the zoom magnum ultravibe speed worm a try after reading about it on here. This worm seems really popular down south and specifically in Florida. Haven’t found too many videos of people fishing it in the North East. Also have some Cavitron Buzzbaits coming soon after reading about them here. Excited to part of these great group of anglers. 2 Quote

Super User Swamp Girl Posted November 9, 2024 Super User Posted November 9, 2024 I second A-Jay: Good luck tomorrow. Now I have to Google "zoom magnum ultravibe speed worm" to see what the heck that is! Quote
Jsher19038 Posted November 9, 2024 Author Posted November 9, 2024 Thanks ! Yeah I reading about fishing through weeds on here and found some posts about it. A poster named Mike L spoke very highly of them, as well as some others. I’ll see how it does tomorrow. Quote
Susky River Rat Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Welcome aboard! I am assuming you are talking about Ontelaunee. I am manly on the susky but, the second half of this year has left me more fishing blue marsh. Quote
Jsher19038 Posted November 10, 2024 Author Posted November 10, 2024 Yup that’s where I am talking about! Usually fish the pads in the spring. Been exploring looking for structure while it’s low. Trying to catch some fish while exploring too. Haven’t gotten a monster yet but I know they are in there. Never fished blue marsh. Love the susky though. I fish it near the Rockville bridge. Quote
Craig P Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Welcome! Another SE Pa’er here. I’m about 25 minutes away from L.O. but oddly, I’ve only ever fished it once. I am a boater though and have a couple other lakes near me that are my quick trip bank beaters so that’s probably why. Let’s hope the rain tomorrow and next week get us flowing a little better. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted November 10, 2024 Super User Posted November 10, 2024 Welcome Aboard Quote
Susky River Rat Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I have never been to Ontelaunee. The rock view bridge and fort hunter area are neat. The only down side of it is it’s hard on boats. Quote
Super User GaryH Posted November 10, 2024 Super User Posted November 10, 2024 Welcome aboard… good luck today. Keep us posted 👍 Quote
GRiver Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Hi and good luck, from the Sunshine State of Florida Quote
Jsher19038 Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 Thanks everyone! Did land one largemouth on the zoom magnum. Landed a nice pickerel on it as well. Liked how it felt pulling through the weeds. My buddy got 3 including a 4 pounder on a chatterbait. 1 Quote
