Justbass11 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Looking for a budget friendly depth finder for the bow of my 2017 Bass Tracker Pro 175txw . Any suggestions would be great, thanks Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted November 8, 2024 Super User Posted November 8, 2024 And what features are 'necessary' for you? Quote
Justbass11 Posted November 8, 2024 Author Posted November 8, 2024 I would say around $500ish give or take. I’m not looking for anything like live scope. I have a Garmin 9 inch on the console and and an older bow unit that is a 4 inch Lawrance. @MN Fisher just the basics really Quote
Justbass11 Posted November 8, 2024 Author Posted November 8, 2024 @MN Fisher@12poundbass, I just started and saw the Garmin STRIKER which I think is all I need. But I also think I need some good advice from experience boaters that would know more than me. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 8, 2024 Super User Posted November 8, 2024 Garmin Striker 7" CV gives you 2D and Downscan for just over $400 - I've had this unit for a couple years now and it's a good, basic unit. With the map-making software, you can create a GPS linked map of any lake you cruise over. SV currently on sale for $499 on Amazon adds Sidescan to that. 1 Quote
Justbass11 Posted November 8, 2024 Author Posted November 8, 2024 @MN Fisher thanks for the advice very much appreciated Quote
LonnieP Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I agree on the Striker. I have a 93SV on the bow of my 2016 175twx. If you can afford to spend a little more, the 9 inch is definitely worth the extra $100 1 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted November 8, 2024 Global Moderator Posted November 8, 2024 Black Friday is coming up and you can usually find some pretty good deals. I’m a Garmin guy having two 93SV Echomaps. I’d also go with a Striker or an Echomap if you can swing the extra coin. Cabelas/Bass Pro usually has Black Friday deals and there are marine electronic stores that have good BF deals too. 1 Quote
r83srock Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 My gosh the Echomaps are just so good for the money. I have two and have no regrets. I see Russell marine has a used 9” for $500. 1 Quote
