Best color pattern for Alewives?

You see a lot of soft bait colors mimicking gizzard shad, threadfin shad, or just shad in general… Does anything specifically mimics an alewife?

Honestly - any of the more natural shad imitators would work fine.

 

Darker back lighter belly etc.

Take anything shad or white, use a yellow marker or dip to lightly color a line in the middle, and if you have anything darker blue or grey/black lightly color the top if you really want to match the hatch.

The one lake i fish had a bunch of these dumped in there years ago, by some idiots as the guys from the PA fish and boat called them. Various shad patterns (especially electric shad or something like that) and whites work well for the pike and bass.

Pearl and silver work fine.  Love those little shiny fat nuggets

Not sure if it looks exactly like it but this Easy Shiner alewife color always catches fish for me.

one of these plus one of these. Our alewives have a blue tinge to them with the occasional chartreuse fin.

Wasn't the original Slug-go in this color? Sort of a gray back, pearl belly with a little bit of blue tint?

I don't know if it was the original but that was certainly one of the colors.  I have a bag downstairs.
