Super User J Francho Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 How do you say it, and why are you saying it wrong? LOL, this has to be one of my biggest pet peeves when listening to boat reviews, sales people, or anyone talking about their boat. Pic for attention, the KON-suhl of a Sportsman Masters 267, because I want one. 1 3 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 I say con as in conman then sole like the bottom of my shoe. That said, Yankees have the right to say it wrong if they like and I respect that. 😁 3 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 1, 2024 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2024 Yankee here, and I say it the same as you. I made it through the fifth grade. 2 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 1, 2024 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 1, 2024 I say "con". Yankee here and the 5th grade was the best 3 years of my life! 1 12 Quote

Super User FryDog62 Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 Fishing industry mispronunciations - Like pronouncing it KamaGatsu - reversing the G and K is done a lot too.. Or Sinko vs. Senko… many other malaprops in fishing… lol Quote

Watch a couple boat reviews, and you will hear it. I should have clarified, I was referring to in person pronunciation. Not on video. Regardless, most around here refer to them as a "tiller" or "wheel" boat. Tiller boats outnumber wheel boats here by a fair margin because walleye is king. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 1, 2024 Author Super User Posted November 1, 2024 A tiller is what most bass heads should buy when looking at anything under 18'. The layout makes more sense. I loved my 17' tiller. 3 Quote
Super User gim Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 I agree. Saves a lot of space without the "CON-SUL" there lol 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 1, 2024 Super User Posted November 1, 2024 ^ I could have gone console when building Bass Trek, but decided on a tiller to give me a bit more room. I have no complaints about it. 1 Quote
Junger Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Don’t care how people pronounce it as long as they don’t spell it “counsel”. 😀 Quote

Super User TOXIC Posted November 2, 2024 Super User Posted November 2, 2024 Writing for Yamamoto and being edited by a professional doesn’t let me get away with any writing errors and I’ve learned over the years. My biggest cringe…. I have my boat for sell….Instead of…. I have my boat for sale. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 2, 2024 Author Super User Posted November 2, 2024 I watch the used drums and percussion market like a hawk, and "symbols for sell" is about as common as "Diawa." 1 Quote
