StillH2O Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I bought a Chronarch 50mg a month ago and really haven't used it much, so I call on forum members with more experience. In view of the type of fishing I do in Oklahoma, I have no doubt that the reel will suit me just fine. But here's where I need help. I will be going to El Salto in mid-February, and I'm planning on taking the Chronarch 50mg/IMX 843 as one of my three rigs. My guess is that I'll be throwing Senkos and T-Rigs with this rig. All the folks I've talked to about Mexico bass fishing insist that 20# test line is really minimal--especially for worm/jig fishing. Due to it's low line capacity, I really can't see Trilene Big Game as an option. I thought about either using Seaguar 15# (with a relatively small diameter) maybe switching techniques and using say, a 50# braided line for T-Rigs. I would appreciate any suggestions. P.S. My other two rigs I plan to take are Curado 200D's on Falcon Cara rods--H and MH. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 Use 50lb power pro on the chromarch 50MG, I do and it works great for T-rigged worms. JMHO Ronnie Quote

Super User flechero Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 Call one of the service centers and order a curado 100 B spool. They are like $35 and a direct swap out, they increase your line capacity enough to go up to #20 XT. They work great, all but one of my 50 MG's have the 100 B spools in them. I carry the original spools as extras, loaded with different lines for different circumstances. A cheap solution for the "trip of a lifetime" Quote
StillH2O Posted January 26, 2007 Author Posted January 26, 2007 Thanks you for the suggestions. You all have given me some good options to consider. This is a good challenge to have...trying to prepare for a Mexico bass fishing trip! Poor me... Quote
New 2 Bass Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I use the powerpro 40 in my chronarch 101. I love it. So much so I bought another. It took a while but now I'm sold on these. The spinner stays home. I've pulled in logs and trees w/ this line. Amazing. No problems at all. Just don't let the line get near the rocks. Al Quote

hookem12_0 Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Nice Combos first off. If it was me I would spool the mg up with P-Line Spectrex 30lb braid. It has an 8lb mono diameter and flips and casts awesome. I use it on my mgs and it works great. Not to mention it is tough as nails. It is the best braid I have ever used. Quote
