buckmaster27012 Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 Is fishing down there that tough? I've fished the last four days down there with very little success. People talking about getting on schooling spot bite but I didnt find much of that going on while I was down there. Fishing docks and rocks seemed to be where most fish came from during our tourney. I found myself fishing both but barely got a limit both days. I spent a lot of time on water willow also but doesnt seem like that really holds fish too well. One guy said he would catch most of his keeperd within 200 yard stretch, so the lake must be really area dependent. We fish down there every October and this was my second year but still struggling. I"ll keep going back and hopefully figure it out. Quote
Functional Posted October 15, 2024 Posted October 15, 2024 I havent been up there for a bit, but if water temps are similar to my home lake about an hour south of it then I'd still hit main lake points and maybe some secondary points closer to the entrance of fingers. Key for those points though would be steeper transitions from deeper water to shallow with some type of cover in the shallow area. Might explain why that guy was saying in small stretches. My guess is they are looking to start moving into shallows before the cold hits to fatten up but they aren't fully committing just yet. Again, all a guess not having been on the lake for about a month or 2. Quote
