PXL_20241010_221632436.jpg.8aa4de2a35dcac9a32de318084ef504a.jpgSo launched the boat this morning in a small 50 acre lake in WV, very windy.

Apon return I noticed an entire grass mat came loose and had the single ramp covered.

Well, had to get the boat.

It was like dragging an entire rain Forrest out of the lake.

Wish I'd taken a picture before yanking all this junk off the boat trailer.

Plan on fishing next week and will scrub the bunks.

Been trying to pull off some back to back mornings myself. Yesterday was calm and much like glass. This mornings winds kicked in by 9:30. Short morning, had no intentions of fighting it. I’ll hit it in the am again. Less wind in tomorrow forecast. I know it was gonna be windy today but didn’t expect it to start so early.
Was gonna take some pics yesterday of grass and pads dying off but didn't. I’m not really fishing in it.
When the wind/breeze is just right and it pushes all that surface scum into the ramp I think that is worse.
That must have been a heck of a sight you pulling 60 lbs. of cattail down the highway.
Good fishing.

Couple of years ago, late November, we were suppose to have a day in the seventies.  The last warm day we were going to get for the year.  Wind from the south pushed all the leaves up to the north, packing in on the boat ramp.  Just as I was going to pull the boat off the trailer, I thought, hey, I should take a picture of this:bad-idea-014:

After I recovered I got what I could off the trailer.  That next spring, I happened to noticed a lot of leaves float away when I launched.
