I never see any posts about rods less than 6'. The only rods under 6' I see in tackle shops have pistol grips. Are there any trigger rods under 6' ? Dose anyone still use short rods? If so, what lures do you fish with?

out of my 5 rods, 3 are 5' 6".  Alot has to do with preference.  I used to fish from a smaller boat, so a short rod was easier and compact.  I like using this short mh to h action rod to fish with buzzbaits and spinnerbaits.  With this short rod you can't cast as far, but you can get under heavy cover such as trees fallin in the lake or syprus trees much easier.  A longer rod is used usually for worms, but again it has alot to do with preference.  Some people may disagree

My next rod will most likely be 6' or shorter so I can put a jig or soft plastic right in the spot I want on a bus or laydown.
