Digger2 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 If this is not acceptable apologies in advance! I have some lures I know nothing about. While searching through eBay there are similar but not quite close to the ones my late brother purchased. Where could I get these appraised? Some seem to fetch decent money ? TYIA ! Quote
Super User Munkin Posted October 7, 2024 Super User Posted October 7, 2024 Ebay and a Facebook group called Wood Bait Nation (or something similar?)are the best places I know of. Generally, WEC baits go for $20-50 depending on condition and rarity. Most valuable one I have is a 2007 Grey back foiled Mutt worth about $150. Allen 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted October 8, 2024 Super User Posted October 8, 2024 @Munkin is correct in recommending Wood Bait Nation on Facebook. There are a number of guys in that group that can help. Quote
KP Duty Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 William Edward Chambers (WEC...founder of Zoom soft baits) died like 7 years ago, but somehow Simmons is still selling new WEC's on Ebay. I have quite a few that I don't fish, but that may change Quote

Cliff Pace bought the duplicator machines from Zoom and started producing a lot of the baits under his brand. Allen 2 Quote

Allen Expand I was so thankful when I saw Cliff's asking price- Same $18 that WEC's cost 20yrs ago Quote
MAN Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 I have been wanting to add a few of these to my collection. How can I tell the originals WEC baits versus the new ones being produced by Simmons?? Quote

If it is a WEC bait Ed made it and if it's a Black Label then Cliff Pace. Most WEC baits will have EC and a year etched into the bill. Allen 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted October 14, 2024 Super User Posted October 14, 2024 Cliff's Black Label baits are top notch. I fish a number of them. 1 Quote
