Super User Alpster Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 Promax, Welcome to the forum. I have fished a few Garcias and have a couple now, but to answer your question, I fish mostly with Shimanos. You'll get a lot of diverse answers, there are a bunch of good fishermen here. ENJOY! Big T Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Welcome aboard! I have an assortment of brands, most of my reels see double duty, fresh and inshore saltwater. I have two Shimano's, a Pflueger that my wife uses, 1 Quantum Kinetic 40, a Penn 450 ssq that I pciked up, it is one of the last ones made in the USA. The newer ones are being made in China. And one Ambassaduer 4600 C3. Even though I like my Shimano's I not so loyal that I will not try another brand. Quote
cabela10 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I've used Shimano since I was a kid and this winter I started to purchase the Quantum Energy's. My vote was for both the Shimano and Quantum. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 Welcome to the club! Daiwa!!! Quote

Super User FishTank Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 I have both Shimano and Quantum reels but Shimano is my favorite, Quote
lubina Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 WELCOME America runs on Daiwas and Quantums!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I voted Daiwa since that's all I've used for the last 15 years. I am picking up a Quantum Energy soon, time to step up into the $100+ bracket. Quote
paparock Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I have mostly a mixture of Daiwa and Shimano. Quote
hi_steel_basser Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I voted Shimano and quantum. Abu has the Revo series LP baitcasters on the market now, which I intend to try, along with Diawa reels(which I have never owned). Quote
ljmax Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I'm new to this board and have not fished for bass in the last ten years. :-[ When I moved up to north Florida I switched over to fishing the flats in the Gulf for Reds. I am now getting back into bass so I've come to my sense's. 8-) I used to use Shimano's and Ambassadeurs but I just bought a Pflueger Trion and used it on Crooked Lake last week and it did a great job. It felt so good I just ordered 2 more. I guess I should say all of my bass gear is 1992 models and older. :-[ Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I voted Abu because that's what I started off with and have used for the last 30 years, but in the last 5 years I've added Quantums to the arsenal and love 'em. Quote
