Greetings All,

Great responses! I'm with @Catt as I'm enjoying the angling adventures all year round here in AZ. As long as the weather conditions are safe we are good for taunting fish! Each season has virtues to enjoy.

The warm weather does bring out many others out to enjoy the lake. I admit I am looking forward to when I won't have a work schedule to limit my goof-off time taunting fish.

@WRB shares a great seasonal guide to help with the different approaches. Greatly appreciate the information provided by all!

Me, I do what I can to have a good time. Always good to be "on-line".  Be well, and Cheers!

Fall, the  jet skiers and the vacation people are gone and the water starts to cool down and the top water bite is incredible. You can fish top water all day. Another plus is you don’t loose any tackle

October through early/mid December. February through April.

Great weather and usually great fish activity. I think June/July/August are my least favorite due to the heat and boat traffic....

Pre spawn for me starting in the fall until late spring. Best chance for a trophy.

The non-summer months are my favorite time to fish.  It gets so hot down here that fishing beyond the first couple of hours in the morning is just not fun anymore.  The bass are much easier to catch and are more active in the cooler months.

Spring and it's not even close. Mid april to mid may is probably my favorite time, up here the bass are all up shallow, big and extremely predictable. Fall binge would be my second.

I'd love to say spring (around the spawn) but as a tax accountant I have ZERO life from 1/1-4/15. I mean ZERO.

With that being said, my favorite season is the fall.

Fishing, hunting, and football. Doesn't get much better.

October through April for me. Start tampering off in May and June through September maybe once a month. I live on the Gulf coast and can't take the heat and humidity any more. Just took my first trip yesterday since early July and it's still to hot and humid

Florida:

October, March-April

Maryland:

May-June

In Florida, the summer heat becomes too intense for me to enjoy fishing. It doesn’t help that the heat also limits fish activity. I like October because the cooler weather limits the amount of tourists and pleasure boaters, and the fish become hungry again. The same goes for March and April, although tourist activity picks up in the spring.

In Maryland, I like fishing for smallmouth in rivers and creeks, and late May through early June provides wet-wading access and active fish. Once the water warms towards the dog days, the fishing is still good but there are fewer solid fish to be found. The weather is also comfortable, and it’s nice to see the trees turn green again after spring blooms.

I shuffle my time between the river and the lake (river rat at heart). I don’t have a favorite season or time slot but I do like the fall because I feel a new PB will come than. This is if history repeats itself. But I fish for that new PB every time I’m out.
