LCG Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Wondering if anyone has experience with the new Daiwa Tatula 100? Please feel free to share your thoughts on the reel. Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted September 18, 2024 Super User Posted September 18, 2024 You talking about the newest model that says "TATULA" on the top of the frame? Very solid reel. Super smooth and casts a mile. The previous version (with the red accents on the thumb bar), which wasn't out that long, is also a great reel. But the new model is definitely a step up with the addition of HyperDrive. Now, the older version is a tad more palmable, IMO. The newer one just sits a little higher, but may be a tad narrower. 1 Quote
Flyfish-mt Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 I bought a couple of the Tat's earlier this year and they are a good solid reel, probably worth the $120/ea I paid for them. Also got (2) really nice Simms/Daiwa LS hooded fishing shirts free during the promotion. Not sure if the promo is still going on..... Quote

Interesting that the new 32 mm spool Tatula palms taller than the old 34 mm spool reel. I wonder if this is due to the plastic top cover over the frame like the Zillion has. Quote
