KS_Bassin Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Got an announcement in the mail about these new rods? I have never heard of them the little paper says that they are the best money can buy each is 40.00 and when you buy one you get one free what a joke. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these rods? Looks like some wal-mart special to me? Matt Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 Funny. I got the same thing in the mail. I really didn't read it but after I saw your post I googled Acadia Sports rods, Acadia fishing rods, etc. and I can find nothing. If I can't find any information about the product, I won't even consider it. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 I got it to. It is now in the trash. I wonder how they got our names??? Wierd too that we are all in the same region. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 The letter says that these are 24 million modulus graphite. An article by our own Craig Baugher, written in 2003 states that an intermediate graphite rod modulus would be in the range of 33 - 42 million. I'm no expert on these strand counts, but I believe the higher counts result in a lighter, more sensitive rod and this article seems to bear that out. (Link is below.) I don't think these are quality products. I think they're trying to get the business of all of the Shakespeare Ugly Stick users. http://www.flwoutdoors.com/article.cfm?id=141123 Quote

Last time you were at a sports show you probably signed up for a couple of "free" drawings. Some magazines sell their membership list, too. But it would NOT be from Cabela's or BPS, they maintain very strict control over their customer files. Quote
Bass XL Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 i got one too, the only thing i can think of is bps. Quote
