I go to the eye Dr next Monday.  I need bifocals for threading hook eyes, etc.  I am wearing off the rack now.  Do your polarized lenses work well on the water?  Is it worth it to shell out the bucks for polarized glasses with progressive lenses.   Thanks for sharing your experience.

My progressives are WileyX Omega’s in bronze with blue mirroring. I’m on my 3rd pair in something like 12 years. I like the wrap around design with curved lenses so they block the side light, which they do.  Well worth it or I wouldn’t be on my 3rd pair, the down side is the price.

You can get them online but I went thru a more or less local optometrist, progressives can be tricky to get right.

When I bought my 1st pair, WileyX was the only company I could find that did progressives in wrap around. There may be other options now.

One of my favorite points to them is I’ve never gotten a scratch on them, don’t know what they do but it works. I did have a different optician quote me. Lower price, but they put their own lenses in the in Wiley’s frames, which I didn’t trust.

If you’ve not had progressives before, you might want to hold off shelling out $$$ till you know if you can. Maybe go with Cocoons till your used to the clear everyday glasses, if that’s what you re getting.

Thanks for your concern.  I wore glasses with progressive lenses for years to help with my astigmatism.  In 2011 I had to have cataract surgery and opted to pay the additional cost for toric lenses.  I haven’t worn prescription glasses since.

My costa lenses are progressives. I’ve had zero issues with them besides a scratch on one lens…

I recommend that you familiarize yourself with the Italian monopoly EssilorLuxottica.  They own most of the brands in the eyeglass industry and most of the brands mentioned in this thread.   If you don’t buy from them you will save hundreds of dollars.  Good frames cost less than $10 to make and lenses are even less.   If you pay $100 for glasses you are getting ripped off.   If you pay $500…..

This 60 Minutes report was made before Luxottica and Essilor merged.
