I work at a fishing store and I have the many questions about reels and history of them.

Does anyone have a master list/PDF/Spreadsheet of the lineage of the Shimano Curado's line up since inception? The box's have numbers and letter's on them. I just relatively know the size of these baitcast reels but cannot explain the mysterious acronyms that's displayed on them boxes.

I would like to clearly explain and distinguish older to newer models of any Shimano reel that we have on display.

I don't see the OG lipstick red Curado on there.  It was early 90's I think.  One showed up on ebay about 5 years ago...it was NIB!  Went for $105

Just from my semi young but foggy memory I believe there was:

1989ish (grey colored magnetic brake Curado) I believe only produced one year.

1990 or so (red tomato)

1994 (200b “greenie”) I think this reel was made until 2008 or so in some markets.

2002 + or - a yr (100b)

2004 (200bsf)

2006/7 D series

2008/10 E series

2012 G series

2014/15 I series

2018 K series

2023 M series

This is loosely accurate

I wish I had a dollar for every bass caught on one of those old Greenies.

That three bucks would get you a pack of dingers :hammerblows:
