Lmbasshunter Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Is this reel overspooled? Or does it look ok? Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted August 23, 2024 Super User Posted August 23, 2024 Looks a little under for a fresh spool but it will work okay. 1 Quote

Eric 26 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 I have that reel in 1500 size and I agree you could have put a little more on. 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted August 23, 2024 Super User Posted August 23, 2024 If you notice the grove about 1/8" from the lip in the 2nd picture that is the full fill line on the spool. I usually fill right to the inside of the grove closest to the center of the spool. 1 Quote
JJP Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 It’s fine. I tend to underspool spinning reels a bit, it helps especially with slack line techniques when you’re reeling loose line onto the spool 2 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted August 23, 2024 Super User Posted August 23, 2024 A little under, but not extremely so. I'd fill it to where the black and gold meet...or as Mr @Dwight Hottle stated...the groove. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted August 24, 2024 Super User Posted August 24, 2024 I'd agree with the slightly under filled group....for freshly spooled. Line size, type and stiffness would be the determining factor for any other type of line. Quote
