Shinmothy Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Hi all, I just now got finished up sealing a rod with U40, but as usual, I was a bit dumband didn't think about sealing the ends of the handle off with some tape and now I have runs on the blank and reel seat. What's the best way to take it off? It probably doesn't affect function at all, it's just a bit of an eye sore of my stupidity. Quote
ike8120 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Maybe lightly scrub with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. If it doesn't work and other suggestions from members don't work. Here is the contact link for U40 https://u-40.com/contact.aspx Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 25, 2024 Posted August 25, 2024 You’re right in that it won’t hurt anything. U40 is a water based polymer so once it cures you need a solvent or abrasive to remove it. Nothing too aggressive is needed. Magic eraser and maybe some alcohol should work without harming anything. Be careful on a painted blank. You could make a bad matter worse. Quote
badfish79 Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 i've used magic eraser and water to remove u-40 up to a few days after it "dried" Quote
