I suck at trying to figure out what rod is best for what I need I'm trying to add a couple more setups this year and there is just so many rods to choose from I don't even know where to begin, But I have narrowed it down to two companys and thats as about as far as its gotten. The ones I'm looking at are St. Criox and Loomis. I like to fish plastics alot and I really love C rigging, and I basically want this to be my plastics rod. Any suggestions. Also while I'm at it can anyone tell me is there a big difference in St. Criox's Premier series rods and there Avid series rods. I have a premier series already and I like it alot but just curious if there is a big difference between the two  I would like to stay no more than the $200 range if I can.

Go with the St. Crroix Avid, you will love it. I have 3 casting (AC66mf) and 3 spinning (AS60mf), might even pick up a 7th one this year.

At the end of a fishing trip I wanted to dropshot but didn't feel like setting it up, lucky enough my buddy had his setup already. When I picked it up I noticed a difference right away, sure enough, look down its a premiere. Its like going from a Corvette to a Escort...

First of all, there is indeed a very noticeable difference in the Croix' Premier and Avid series; deserving of the higher price tag.  I owned a Premier for about a month before trading it in on an Avid (although the Premier is superb at its price point).  If we had to pay retail prices for Loomis rods, the Croix' versus Loomis debate would be a little more difficult of a decision.  But we don't.  There is no other brand that you can buy directly from a supplier at around 10% over cost like Fat Fish Farmer's Ebay store provides.  For $170, there is no rod that will provide you near the performance of an IMX.  I love my Avid spinning rods, but my IMX is a noticeable step up in weight and sensitivity.  I paid $260 for my first IMX, an 844c at Bass Pro, and it blew me away...worth every penny of $260.  The fact you can buy that same rod from Fat Fish for $180 is unreal.  Take advantage  :o.
