Help with Garmin ECHOMAP UHD 93sv setup / installation?

Hi all,

I recently purchased my first own fishfinder for my 13' fishing kayak. It's the model specified in the title, along with Garmin's GT54 transducer. I haven't taken the device out on the water yet, but first I'm trying to configure some of the settings in my living room. There are a few things that I can't figure out.

First off, I don't seem to have options for ClearVu or SideVu. When I tap on "Sonar" from the main menu, my only options are "Traditional", "Split Frequency", "Flasher", "Data Graphs" and "Sonar Recordings."

Both the power and transducer cables are firmly placed into the display/cradle. I don't understand why traditional sonar would be available, but not ClearVu and SideVu. If I put the device into "demo mode", all the demos for ClearVu and SideVu are there.

My next issue is about how to properly secure the power cable's wires onto my 12v 12ah lithium battery. Since unboxing the device, I simply have the wires resting in the corresponding positive/negative terminals on my battery, with nothing but gravity holding them in place. How am I supposed to keep these wires secured? I'd think the proper pieces/connectors (not sure what they're called) would come with the device, but I haven't found any detailed instructions in the manual. I've never worked with wiring or non-consumer batteries before at all, so please forgive me if these questions sound kind of dumb. Given the apparent lack of similar questions here, I know I'm probably not grasping something obvious.

Thanks in advance for any tips

You are going to need some terminal connectors and a wire stripper/crimper, available at any hardware store.  I use terminal crimps, some use alligator clips.  Avoid the cheapest stripper.  They don't crimp for crap.  Spend a few extra bucks for a decent one.  For your settings, it will be worth your time to watch a couple videos.  There's thousands of variables in the settings, and you will get a good head start, and can then keep tweaking for you and your waters.
