Super User ChrisD46 Posted August 18, 2024 Super User Posted August 18, 2024 What is your current favorite Neko worm (6" to 7") ? ... I mostly use Zoom Trick Worms and Net Bait T-Mac Worms : For the Zoom Trick Worm I have to trim about a 1/4" or so off of the nose to lose that taper so I can insert a nail weight in the head . The Net Bait T-Mack is better in that regard as the head is not tapered at the end plus the action is a little livelier as a Neko worm versus the Zoom Trick Worm . Still , I believe there may be better such as the 6th Sense Devine Shakey Worm or the Xzone Deception Worm or the MB Fat Finesse Worm (both 6") ... Your thoughts and experiences for your current favorite Neko Rig worm ? 1 Quote
TNBankFishing Posted August 18, 2024 Posted August 18, 2024 Daiwa Neko - Larger size helps I feel to get bigger bites. 5 inch Do Live Craw - same as above. Bellows shad - Still new in the rotation but good results so far. 3.8 Bull Flat - Solid bait. Use a neko hack to rig the non stick baits. Quote

The Daiwa Neko is sort of a Senko hybrid for Neko Rigs . I have a variety of stick worms I use with decent results but seem to have a little more confidence with a 6” to 7” straight tail worms due to the added flex and movement you get from Neko rigging straight tail finesse worms . TNBankFishing Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I don’t like the volume of baits I lose with the thinner finesse worms. Even using shrink tubing or vmc crossover rings I tear up so many baits. If pressed I would prefer the 7 inch reaction innovations flirt worm. The cut tail adds a bit more action imo. Quote
rgasr63 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 I have found that the Magnum Dizzy Diamond worm works very well for Neko and the standard and Magnum Dizzy Diamond works as my shaky head worm of choice currently. Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted August 19, 2024 Super User Posted August 19, 2024 I like the T-Mac worm as well, but I seem to catch the biggest fish on a thicker worm with floating tail - GrandeBass Airtail Rattler. Shrink tube instead of O-ring and a VMC Neko hook size #1. 4 Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted August 19, 2024 Super User Posted August 19, 2024 I also used to use the Daiwa Neko, but had mixed results… part of the issue was I think I had a tendency to over-work the plastic to keep it from laying flat on the bottom since it sinks. I switched to GrandeBass Airtail worms that have the floating tail - which keeps the worm more upright, 45-90 degree angle which is a natural feeding position. Although I really like the Airtail Rattler, I’ve also used the Airtail Neko Stick Bait that looks like the Daiwa Neko, but it actually floats and works much better IMO. If you like longer, thin straight tail worms try the Airtail Wiggler. It also has the blunt tip to wedge a nail weight in there easily. I gave all my Trick Worms away to a local High School fishing team when I started using these 👍 1 Quote
KP Duty Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 I guess my grandebass worms aren't much of a secret. I like the air-wiggler, slinko, and rattlesnake. I'm like 5yrs good on grandebass after their 1/2 price christmas sale a little while back. 1 Quote
J.Vincent Posted August 20, 2024 Posted August 20, 2024 Zoom 4.5 Finesse Worm or the Zoom Mag Finesse Worm on a #1 or 1/0 VMC Neko hook with a Do It Molds nose weight 👍 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 20, 2024 Super User Posted August 20, 2024 Bass Assassin 71/2" Tapout Worm Thicker & heavier than a Trick Worm, not as big as a Magnum Trick Worm. 1 Quote

You start to see a trend with these recommended Neko Rig worms , mainly with a bit larger head thickness to make inserting a Neko nose weight easier along with a tapered tail before the tail expands again nearer the tip for more action (especially floating tail options). New worms I want to try (besides those great suggestions listed above) are the Missile Baits Quiver Worm as John Crews designed this especially for the Neko Rig . Berkley Powerbait Maxscent Hit Worm Magnum , BioSpawn PlasmaTail Worm , Bizz Baits Dizzy Diamond Worms andthe Z-Man SMH Shaking My Head Wormz . 1 Quote
Dash Riprock Posted August 21, 2024 Posted August 21, 2024 Another vote for Grandebass. They make great baits and you can rig them all kinds of ways. Sometimes I wonder why I carry anything else. I've also had some success with Missile quiver worms. 1 Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 Either a 7" bubbing shaker or GB AT wiggler. Used to be a big fan of GB, but them cutting the amount of AT wigglers by 30% and raising the price per bag doesn't sit well with me. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted August 28, 2024 Super User Posted August 28, 2024 So like the zoom finesse, the 5" pro senko, the discontinued 6.75" pro senko is the bomb, so glad I bought lots of them and a cut tail worm. 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 GB Air Tail Wiggler #1 Yamamoto Slink-O Floater #2 But I just got some Bellows Shad so that will bet a shot as well. Quote
walleyecrazy Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 The Bizzbaits Dizzy Diamond is my go to 99% of the time when I am Neko fishing. Quote
