Global Moderator Mike L Posted August 9, 2024 Global Moderator Posted August 9, 2024 I have 2 Lancers that I use every outing. For the money, they are probably the best all around rods I own. @T-Billy should be along soon. He’s the one who put me onto them as he knows thier line well Mike Quote
JN94 Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 I love ark rods. I own 4-5 of them and will continue to buy more. You won't be disappointed. Which line are you looking at? 1 Quote
FrnkNsteen Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 Ive got three of them from different price levels. I first saw the cheaper Catalyzer and liked the grip of the handle. I put an old TDZ HL reel with the topside pitching clutch on it at fishes well. Pretty nice stick for the price. I followed that with an Ark Tharp series Hammer model (7'MH) that I like alot too. I was initially using that with 20lb flouro for a chatterbait over rocks in Canada. The heavy flouro helped protect against the northern. I honestly don't remember what's on it now. Maybe the same setup still. Last one I bought was a used 7'3" MH Invoker LE with the full cork handle. I've got 40lb braid on it and use it with belly weighted screwlock ewg hooks working chigger craws and rage craws around laydowns and other cover. I've been pretty happy with it too. The grip on all three of those has an extra open area that allows my finger to wrap around the blank and really feel the bait. Quote
Functional Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 I currently have a Tharp Hammer and Catalyzer and my brother inlaw has an Invoker. For the price they are extremely hard to beat. I'm a little surprised at how well the catalyzer fishes for me given the price. I originally bought it as a cheap rod to keep at my inlaws but it hasnt made it out of the boat I've enjoyed it so much. I always look at ARK as an option when I need a new rod. 1 Quote
TheSwearingAngler Posted August 9, 2024 Posted August 9, 2024 I have 4 Lancer Pros, 2 spinning 2 casting.. they are all awesome for what I use them for… 2 of them I would say get extremely heavy usage, daily usage. 1 gets heavy usage in the spring and fall, and one gets moderate usage as an all around. As I’ve moved into more technique specific gear the all around MH has been used a lot less. I got these buy one get one but would not hesitate to replace one at full price.. 1 Quote
Super User T-Billy Posted August 9, 2024 Super User Posted August 9, 2024 I have a bunch of them. All lines are excellent for their price points IMO. The Invoker series is my favorite. Quote
Brian11719 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I bought the old model b-hittay when tacklewarehouse had them on sale. It was an ok rod but honestly for a 'composite' rod it felt mostly like a glass rod and I thought it was a bit heavy. They sell that model as a bladed jig rod but IMO it's not that great for throwing a chatterbait...although I did like it for heavier crankbaits...that said I don't really like eva foam grips so I ended up selling it. Overall based on that experience and the price I paid / value I'd say they are ok, but there are better brands out there...also a bit funny that the rod was named after Brett Hite...but I'm pretty sure he would be using a combat stick over that one...anyway TLDR 3.5-4 out of 5...decent rod and components but nothing special and I personally think there are better rod brands out there.
