They depend on us for food, water, shelter, attention, and general caring and in return they give you unconditional loyalty.

Then comes the day when you must do the terribly hard thing. Yesterday afternoon my wife and I said goodbye to our old, extremely loyal friend of 13 years. He was loved and will be greatly missed by our friends neighbors and mostly us. And today is not much differant as we are packing up his things to donate.

ALWAYS HARD.

Even though we know it's the right

thing to do, Still pretty brutal.

Very sorry about the loss of your boy.

Our Pack is thinking of you.

These threads are the worst.  My day is coming too and I'm already dreading it.

Sympathies for the loss.  You have lots of good memories I'm sure.

I dread this day with my favorite fishing buddy. Actually pretty much my best friend. Because a dog is man’s best friend right?

I am sorry for your loss. I used to think too oh it’s just a dog. Than I got river and I would move heaven, hell, and earth to make sure he is happy, healthy, and safe.  Dogs touch our lives in ways that are indescribable. They aren’t just dogs they are family. Their memories and love are unmatched and unforgettable.

Crazy ain’t it? Back when, I never owned a dog of my own but always loved petting them. Then I met my wife and we have 3 dogs. I dread vacation because I just worry about the dogs the whole time. Our big pyranese mix Cori is 13 or so and not terribly long for this world but she’s had a great run. My wife had Cori’s “end of life” photos taken 2 years ago but she just keeps on barking and smiling. Got an old beagle basset too but they seem to last a long time, he’s over 10 but not sure exactly how old

Always a sad day to get through. The best therapy is a new puppy to help get over missing what  a dog means to our life’s happiness.

It's one of the very hardest things to do. You'll have great memories of that good boy, and thank you for taking such good care of him through his life.
