BayouSlide Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 It will be moving pretty slow come wintertime. Maybe it's a snow bird, er...snow reptile in this case. 😉 1 Quote

Texas Flood Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 I can’t help but think @Zcoker had something to do with this. Quote
Susky River Rat Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 There was a gator in the susky a few years ago. Quote

A small town about 15 minutes from me had an alligator in a drainage pond two years ago. People get them, they grow up, and get let go. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted August 7, 2024 Super User Posted August 7, 2024 @12poundbass The report said a 4-6 foot gator. People keep 12” gators as pets but to many still keep 4-6 footers. A gator can not survive in Erie based on water temps more than a few months. Hoax. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted August 7, 2024 Global Moderator Posted August 7, 2024 There was one in the water here in sevierville and the cops showed up and shot it 😂 I appreciated their no nonsense approach 3 Quote
Zcoker Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 @Texas Flood oh no, busted! lol reminds me of the movie Jaws, when those kids were swimming with a shark fin over their heads. 1 Quote

The city hired a gator hunter from FL to get rid of it. 1 Quote

There’s no doubt it won’t survive our winters and the one “spotted” in the article I posted said it won’t survive. People will do crazy things including building an area in their house to keep an alligator. If I remember right there was a guy down south recently who dedicated his whole basement or garage to keeping an alligator and the thing was huge. It was eventually confiscated and people threw a fit because it was his “pet”. Again….people are crazy and I won’t put anything past them. 😁 3 Quote
Texas Flood Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I had a caiman growing up. When she got over 3 feet long, we gave her to my high school science class(they used to have a gator when my mom was in HS). My parents had all types of animals when I was a kid. It was pretty cool. 1 Quote
