Growing up in Minnesota and being a Seth Feider fan I’ve heard a lot about flipping milfoil, but in my neck of the woods we pretty much only have coontail. I’m curious if I’d have similar success to the milfoil guys farther south, by flipping topped out clumps of coontail, and punching coontail mats? I think I heard somewhere that the bass don’t like to bury themselves as far in coontail as milfoil, do you know if that’s correct?
Thanks!

I have a In-Fisherman early Study Report on fishing various types of aquatic plants found in your location. Very good detailed sketches. If interested will locate the article and send to you via email.

I live in Minnesota and I’ve had good success in coontail. Seems especially good when it’s mixed in with other types of vegetation. In the fall on a couple lakes I fish the deeper coontail is the last healthy green vegetation and then it’s really good.
