Crankin4Bass Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Anyone have saltwater spinning reel recommendations? Planning to fish Southern California beaches for perch, corbina and halibut. Planning on using a carolina rig or luckycraft 110’s using a 7 foot mf spinning rod. Trying to keeping it under $200. Thanks! Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted August 3, 2024 Super User Posted August 3, 2024 The penn fierce combo I bought a couple years back has been great and especially for the price. 1 Quote
SC53 Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 The Daiwa BG series are great reels. I have the 3000 & 5000 that I use in saltwater. Well below your price point too. 2 1 Quote

Crankin4Bass Posted August 26, 2024 Author Posted August 26, 2024 I wound up going with a Shimano Spheros SW. Almost all my reels are Shimano and this one feels familiar to me. Thanks for all the recs! Quote
