I'm looking for a good reel under $100 to use with crankbaits 1/4 oz, as well as inline spinners 1/4 oz and under, small spoons and worms. I currently have an Abu C5500 on a MH 7' rod that i use as my largemouth/pike combo but it's not very versatile for me. At my home lake i fish mostly for pickeral and largemouth and i use the above mentioned lures and sizes. My Abu is great for chucking big spoons and inline's and cranks 1/2 oz to 1 oz but i need something smaller to fill the void. The reel will go on a brand new 6'6 M action Siloflex cranking rod.

Most of the BC I use for small lures are above you price limit.

The best would be my Team Daiwa Sol for small lures.

Its great  finesse reel; however is twice your price limit. $225

I just bought a Pinnacle Solene for my wife.(It looks like the TD Sol, almost the same color (wait Sol...Solene, do I hear  conspiracy theory? :D, but not anywhere near the TD sol's class of reel).

It is a really nice reel tough. We have only had it a few weeks, so long term? It cast smaller lures really nice. have it rigged up on a 6 foot m/h Shimano rod with 10# trilene XL. Works really good and its around $50, but feel like reel that cost a lot more. I bought hers on ebay, new for $35 and I am going to get one for me. I don't like to buy reels in that price range. They always feel and look like junk, and don't last, but this reel seem like a reel that cost a lot more. Just my $. 02

Well i'm actually open to spending more than $100, i threw out the under $100 to try to eliminate the $250 reels and so on. I'm not just out of college so i can't be spending mucho $$ on gear. I try to buy quality stuff within reason based on my budget. Basically i'm looking for a good well rounded baitcaster that's a little more versatile than my ABU C5500 which is my Pike/big water reel.

Take a look at the Quantum Energy PT. I have two of those, and they will throw small baits with ease. For a little less, look at BPS's Johhny Morris signature reel. I have two of those also. They will throw very small baits, on the right rod, of course. The JM reel is on sale several times a year for around $120. At that price, it's a lot of bang for the buck. In a similar price range is the TD Advantage, super tuned. I've used a frien of mine's, and it's a sweet reel for the money.

Good luck, there are so many choices.

Take a look at the ABU - Revo SX. Man I bought one and put it on 6'2" Airus

med action rod with 10# stren. I was'nt ready for it because to first to baits

went out through the woods. I'am talking just a flick of the risk and it's gone.

Ive got about $265 in the outfit. I promise you will be satisfied.
