ABU is overpriced Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 I don't understand this brand. I see their handles in used condition being sold for over $250, and they look worse than what's LIVRE, Deps and SLP Works does. I've seen plenty of their swimbait rods go for over $3500 on auction. Their lures cost an insane amount, and they can't even be bothered using some quality paint on their lures because they chip like crazy. I just don't get it🤷♂️ 1 Quote

It certainly is smart, i think they got the hype rolling through socials, and it somehow worked better than everyone else. 2 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted August 2, 2024 Super User Posted August 2, 2024 I doubt the rods, or handles are worth the premium, however if you follow the big swimbait game, then you'll know the DRT Tiny Klash, K9, and Ghost are very much legit. I don't think they charge crazy money for those three baits, especially considering the demand and their ability to produce them. The two most expensive categories in Bass fishing tackle are 1.) JDM tackle 2.) Big swimbaits. DRT squarely intersects those two markets; it's not really surprising the prices they charge imho. 2 Quote
ABU is overpriced Posted August 2, 2024 Author Posted August 2, 2024 What's real something is that i bought their tiny klash and k9 copy off of ali, and the paint on those $8 lures holds better than their $130+ baits. Quote
Woody B Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I don't even know what DRT is.....but I know what trolling is. 3 Quote
Super User webertime Posted August 2, 2024 Super User Posted August 2, 2024 DRT in Japan isn't expensive, very much in line with other high end brands. It's the importer driving up us pricing. Quote

Texas Flood Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 You've seen them sold for 3.5 million dollars? 1 1 Quote
