What's your favorite event(s)?

I like the swimming and track (shorter distance) ones.  Relays are awesome.

USA is currently ahead in the medal count after 2 full days and I expect them to finish at the top when this is done.

I keep track of all the events......Go USA.

Watched the women's basketball team beat Japan and likely heading for another Gold, an 8th straight. 😳

@gimruis I ran track and cross country in high school and was running for a while before that. I have run a fast half-marathon at 6:30ish pace. Nothing, and I mean nothing, gets me quite as excited as a relay. A 400m relay was usually the last event at my high school meets and they were by far the most fun to watch and just exhilarating to run.

I was an alternate on the 1960 men’s gymnastics team until a car accident ended that. Back then you couldn’t earn more then $25 in any sport and be considered amateur athlete.
US Gymnasts had to compete in 6 events no exceptions so teams were made up with average skilled based on all around score, not the best in any 1 or 2 events like todays teams.

Pro’s playing team sports like basketball ruins the games imo, so watch only Olympic events with amateur athletes.

Good for you!  I was never a runner or sprinter but I enjoy the track events, especially the dashes.

I used to be a competitive swimmer many years ago too.  Still swim regularly but obviously not on a team or in any races anymore.

We watch the air rifle, archery, swimming, and women's gymnastics. My wife was an Elite level gymnast so I get educated about every twist & flip every 4 years.

I'm watching the whitewater slalom events; I personally know a lady who's competing for Mexico in K1.  I also have been watching some of the swimming events.  Neat to see Torri Huske pull the upset in the 100 butterfly.  She's a local girl (Arlington).

I enjoy watching most of it. I like watching men and women push the limits of what’s possible.  The BMX racing is probably what I like the most. I don’t mind women’s beach volleyball either. Lol

I watched a little of the Opening Ceremony before I got distracted looking for online contour maps for the River Seine.

I love the soccer, swimming, and track & field... but I mostly focus on introducing my kids to the more obscure events that we only see once every 4 years. So, things like handball, water polo, rugby, fencing, volleyball, equestrian etc.

We only watch those sports a few times, but it's fun to introduce them to something they've never seen.

I enjoy the Olympics because it’s pretty easy to cheer for those athletes representing the Red, White and Blue and this country in any event. It’s been a very long time since the men’s boxing team carried major interest, it’s been women’s gymnastics team more than pulled its weight in medals. I guess some of my favorites there’s a usually a ball involved, track, and swimming events.

I agree!  They're representing the country, not themselves.  There are some pro athletes in the basketball and tennis events that obviously are millionaires already but they're doing it for Team USA in this, not for the money.

Aint like there's a lot of other sports on to watch right now either...

I'm an Olympi-a-holic. I love to watch it all. I wish they would so more coverage of the events and less of the talking heads. I'd love to also see more coverage of the less mainstream events. (Archery, Shooting, Sailing, etc, etc, etc). Go USA!

Wait...,the Olympics is going on?

When they allowed the Pros in - that's when I gave up on it.

I watched a ton of Olympic coverage growing up. Pretty cool stuff!

Have not watched much lately...I don't watch much TV at all. The lone exception is college football.

I would be interested to see Olympic equestrian coverage. Wife and I visited Europe last September, and took a bike tour through Versailles. Tour guide said they were already gearing up for Olympics...will be interesting to see if we recognize landmarks we saw in person.
