Super User king fisher Posted July 30, 2024 Super User Posted July 30, 2024 Twitch an original floating Rapala minnow on the surface in the evening. Try a #3 inline spinner during the middle of the day. Both techniques will usually catch something, and can surprise you with a PB at any time. Quote
Super User Bankc Posted July 30, 2024 Super User Posted July 30, 2024 It depends on tons of factors. But being stealthy is pretty important on a highly pressured lake, in my opinion. What I'll often do is cast something out there and then wait a minute before I start to retrieve it. Give the bass time to forget that they heard something splash into the water. That's especially important if you're making long casts and can't make a soft entry. Also, make repeated casts to the same area, so that the bass don't think your lure is unusual. I also generally prefer soft plastics where the hook isn't exposed. The reason being that I can throw them into areas that most anglers would be afraid to lose their bait. Basically, you're just trying to break the patterns established by the other anglers. So different baits, different locations, different speeds, different times of day, all of that stuff can help. GetFishorDieTryin Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 A 3" swimbait or grub on a light jighead (1/16 or 3/32) will catch fish anywhere. The light weight will force you to slow down and that's important when its really pressured. Quote
Pat Brown Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I know this sounds silly - but those little trailer hook attachments for frogs haven't done me much good - but if that same thing had a free swinging feather tail 😏😏😏😏😏 For now it's a DIY deal or buy a frog with a feather out back out of the package..but it's definitely something they don't see.
