I'd like to buy me a baitcaster rig that will throw 1/8-1/4 oz rigs efficiently. Please recommend a rod and reel setup. Also, with this particular setup, what line are you using ?

Pflueger Supreme or trion with a BPS Extreme XPS rod 7' medium. i like to use McCoy mean green 8lb.

I second the vote for the Pflueger Supreme (or the Pflueger President), but

for my rod choice I would got with a 6'6" or 7" Medium All Star Platinum Series

rod.

Depends what kind of bait your are throwing as to what line. However, I fish a lot

1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs on a 6'10" All Star Pitchin' rod with 50 lb test PowerPro.

I just added a set up this winter for the exact same purposes.

Although I haven't caught a fish with it yet, I have been very pleased with the casting ability, weight, and sensitivity.

I got a Shimano Scorpion 1000 Mg (Chronarch 50 Mg) paired with a St. Croix Legend Tourney Bass rod - 6'8" M power XF tip (TBC68MXF)

I haven't quite decided on what pound line, but it's going to be Gamma Copolymer in either 6 or 8 lbs test
