But if you're the angler equivalent of a person who can't tell the difference between a $10 bottle of wine and a $100 bottle of wine, then yes, it's pretty much all the same. Sensitivity will only benefit those who can decipher it. Sensitivity isn't determined by a rod's cost but rather by its rod action... With that logic, you'd love a 30 dollar, fast-action Ugly Stik since you could feel everything on it. But I thought this was about: 6 hours ago, ironbjorn said: far more hookups and better casting performance Okay performance-wise, I would MAYBE consider buying a parabolic bending rod that bends throughout the whole length. These rods can "improve" hookups by ensuring the bass eats the lure whole before you can feel it (Which goes against your cost = sensitivity rebuttal). This is useful for fast swimming baits where you'd often rip the bait out from the fish's mouth. But this is an extreme use-case scenario that can be compensated for by paying attention to your retrieve. Quote

You would be surprised by how many bites you don't feel, even on a more expensive rod. An Ugly Stik is not a sensitive rod. I was suggesting that you put your new Lambo on something more deserving to take your game to the next level. Nothing more. Even a Daiwa Aird-X would be better than this rod, and it's $50. * Someone who started on Black Max combos a long time ago. Quote

Going a step further, the $100 Tatula XT of the same dimensions would really be a nice step up. Most sales drop the price to $80, so well worth it. 1 Quote

Now, you offered helpful advice but it's obvious you meant to be a condescending *****; ruined our mutual understanding. Words of advice, nobody will listen to what you have to say if you beat them up about it. Simple as that. Quote
