Bandersnatch Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Does 131 sink and if so does that make it a bad line for frogging ? Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted July 26, 2024 Super User Posted July 26, 2024 Sinkage wise I don’t find much difference between it and 832 which is my frog line. Both float or are neutral. 131 is a little stiffer in light diameters which I like. In 50# diameters I haven’t tried 131 but I’m not sure if I would like it. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted July 26, 2024 Super User Posted July 26, 2024 I use it in 10, 20 for spinning tackle & 40 & 50 for casting reels. I'm using 50lb on my frog rod & like it. Quote
Super User Bankc Posted July 26, 2024 Super User Posted July 26, 2024 It's pretty close to neutrally bouyant with a slight lean towards sinking, about like 832. It tends to float on top of the water when you first cast it, and if something draws it down below the water, like the weight of a lure, it tends to sink once it's broken the surface tension. It's a good line for frogging, in my opinion, as pretty much all braids are. Quote
