Congratulations.  Pictures are required on all new dog announcements.   It’s in the forum rules somewhere.  😆

You’ll Love that dog!

We had a min Schnauzer for 12 yrs until recently also.

She will get into your heart quick.

Our last boy was also a mini. Sorry you lost yours. Saying good-bye is the worst. We still talk about our last one everyday.

When I was a teacher, I loved spunky students, so it's logical that I love spunky dogs too.

Lost out Weimaraner a little over 2 years ago and we still say “I’ll let the dog out” every time we pull into the driveway. Thanks to our daughter we have 3 cats and I told the wife no more dogs until we finish with the cats.

They're a beautiful breed.

It’s funny how you mesh with a certain breed and it’s intuitive when you get a new one.  We have had 2 Weimaraner's and both were trained using the methods espoused by The Monks of New Skeet in their books.  While it can be difficult to adhere to them, the more you can, the better results you will get.  They breed/train GSD’s for income and publish their methods in a line of books.  Our first Weim was strict to the methods and our second was generally trained with them.  Both were outstanding dogs.

Same for us.
After Aggie the min Schnauzer and the 2 Great Danes (Butkus 1 and Butkus 2) that’s it for dogs.

The darn cat will probably outlive me

congrats!  with two puppies in the house (14 weeks, 11 months) I can attest to the time requirements you will be under and the challenges you will face.  Over the past 48 hours I have offered to give up one of them multiple times....

@TOXIC My wife also used that book when training our first dog, a beautiful female German Shepherd named Savahna who was without a doubt the most well behaved dog we’ve had.

Awesome! Will boots be going on the Canoe with you?

I'll take him paddling, but not fishing. Just too many hooks. Here he is:
