RHuff Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Been focusing hard on it lately man it’s a versatile technique.. Can literally be fished anywhere in the lake.. caught some shallow.. caught some deep on the bottom.. and shhh caught some suspended with Livescope on it today… I like using the 5in Berkley Maxscent General with the VMC crossover ring on the eggsack of the worm.. 1/16oz nail weight on 8lb braid/flouro leader with a #2 VMC wacky hook… 4 Quote
Super User gim Posted July 15, 2024 Super User Posted July 15, 2024 It’s been my top producing presentation this season for largemouth. Fish are set up on a weed line and I drop it down the edge. Quite often they will grab it on the fall. My setup is very similar. 5 inch stick bait, hooked in the middle with an o ring. I use a size 1 VMC neko hook though. I prefer the longer shank on it. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted July 16, 2024 What O-ring do you guys use? I have some I'm not sure where I got them from and they're literally worthless. Now instead of losing the worm every fish, I lose the worm and the O-ring. Quote
JackstrawIII Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 Instead of rings, try using the Geecrack neko hack. They’re great. Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted July 16, 2024 Super User Posted July 16, 2024 3/4" Length of Silicon Tubing installed with a 'Nasal Speculum'. Quote
Super User gim Posted July 17, 2024 Super User Posted July 17, 2024 I’ve been using the slink o rings that were suggested here. Can be bought on Amazon. Quote
WVU-SCPA Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 The neko rig has become a major part of my arsenal. A flick shake worm has been my go to. At one lake it's the only way I can get consistent bites post 9:00 a.m.. Painfully slow action off the outside weed line in 15FOW. The bellogill/shad looks so delicious neko rigged, but haven't been able to put anything consistent together. 1 Quote
WackyWormNedRig Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Anyone use a 6inch worm for neko rig? I’ve had a lot of success with 5inch worms. Quote

Super User FryDog62 Posted July 26, 2024 Super User Posted July 26, 2024 Thicker worms with floating air bubble tails skipped under docks catch big fish soaking or twitching… 2 Quote
