Got Bass? Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 What length and type (graphite or fiberglass) of rod is good for: -Flipping and Pitching -Topwater -Finesse -cranking -etc. Quote
Nick B Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 There is no right answer for this, they are guidelines for each but it comes down to personal preference. Quote
Clayton Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 He is right. For a long time I used a 6'6" rod when i was pond fishing in my younger days. Now i use both a 6'6" and a 7' mh along with othe spinning gear witch all has been upgraded to my own preference. Quote

VERY true, but here's what I use/suggest: (BTW - Length probably the biggest personal preference so I won't suggest that, I personally have mostly 7 ft rods) - Flipping/Pitching - MH power with a fast tip if used for both ....... if just for flipping H power - Topwater (treble hooked) M with a moderate fast tip ..... up to a MH for bigger topwater baits - Finesse - M power with a fast or extra fast tip - Cranking - M power with a moderate tip for most cranking ......... Deep cranks MH power with a moderate tip Quote

HPBB Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Check out St croix's web site. http://www.stcroixrods.com got to their rod selector and it will ask you question on how, what and where you plan on fishing and give you the recomended rods. just remember any rod can catch a fish Quote
