This could be a really stupid question but I have a daiwa Tatula elite pitching/flipping reel. Would love to get more line capacity. To save money could I just buy an extra spool of the regular version of the daiwa Tatula elite? Are the spools interchangeable?

Yes, but the standard spool from daiwa would be half the cost of what you can buy another reel for...so I'd just buy another reel.

At one point the tackle trap sold them for $45.

Still had them for that price. Much cheaper than another reel for $250 thanks!

Nice.  Just FYI...I recently saw Tat Elites on Ali-X for $143.

Interesting. Never used Ali express before. How do you know what’s legit on there?

I really can't answer that.  They offer certain guarantees like Amazon, but you can use PayPal to be extra safe.  Shipping times from China have improved quite a bit since last year.

It it passes the smell test its legit.  Too much effort in tooling to make knock offs.  You'll get plastic reels that sort of look like a Bantam but are called Hunthouse or something.  Other times you'll get a normal horrid looking chinease reel and they'll put Shimano on the box or reel because they include Shimano branded fishing gasses as a gift.  It's really low effort stuff that you can sniff out from a mile away.  It takes a lot of effort to make a knock off and that's not profitable vs just copying a logo or making a rip off logo and playing off ignorance.
