jiangtao Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I have been using an Abu Garcia 2500C for a Jig/Worm setup for a while now. I don't know the year it is as I haven't really paid any attention to it, but I was wondering if anyone here can give me the gear ratios for it? I was considering switching reels, but I love the thing for casting and pitching and hate to give it up. I guess I might feel a little bit guilty for using such an old reel for everyday use, but I love the "round reel" design in such a compact and easy to use form. Thanks in advance. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 It depends on what vintage that reel is. You can tell by looking at the number stamped into the bottom of the reelfoot. The older ones might be as low as 3.8:1, 4.7:1 or up to 5.3:1 for a newer model. If it's in good shape those 2500C's fetch pretty decent dollars on Ebay. Quote
