i dont own any bass pro rods or reels

but i highly doubt there are any way near top loomis or croix

ur talking about 2 companys that only do 1 thing build rods and there top of the line rods have many many years of research and testing unlike johnny rods that have only been on the market for a few years

well thats my 2 cents take it or leave it

my brother has a johnny reel and all he can say about it is look how long the handle knobs spin after u take ur hand off them

I have a Johnny Morris 7' M casting rod and have found it to be a good rod for the money.

Is it as good as a St. Croix Avid or any G.loomis rod?

No way.

But for the money and at it's price point, I find it hard to beat.  It has a great reel seat and guides but the sensitivity is just on par with rods at the same price.

I have one JM rod, a 7' MH. Got it on sale for $120. At that price it's hard to beat. At the normal price of $150, it's a toss up between it and an Avid. I have both and can't say that one is better than the other.

I'm in the market right now for two new rods. Got a new Millionaire reel and an older TD that I finally got around to repairing. I'm looking at the JM, an Avid and a TD Light&Tough. I currently have one of each rod, and it's a difficult decision for me. I like all three. I'm leaning towards one JM and one L&T, at this point. I may change my mind more than once before I get to BPS.

I don't have any top end Loomis or St Croix rods, so I can't compare the JM to them.
