Spinning reel spool question...

I have a Daiwa Exceler LT 2500-XH. I would like to know if a spool from an Exceler LT 3000-XH would fit. My goal would be more line capacity, and, with a slightly larger spool, less line memory issues.

IMO those two sizes aren't different enough to make a difference when it comes to line memory or casting distance. If bass fishing, I also don't see a scenario where you need more line capacity.

 

Using the right type of line and preventing line twist (making sure line roller works, closing bail manually) have a far bigger impact on line management than spool size.

I can’t speak for the Daiwas but I have Shimano Stradics in 2500 and 3000.  There is a big difference in line capacity.

I also use a lot of copolymer line on the Upper Potomac and a few deep lakes in my area. Line capacity is a bit of a factor in my decision. I'd get a 3000 size reel in Daiwa or Shimano, but personally...I do not like the T shape grip on either brand.

Not sure about interchangeable spool sizes because the spool match the rotator a bail diameter. Most 3000 spools are deeper for additional line capacity not larger diameter line.  
Bass fishing I rarely use more then 50 yards of line because bass don’t run over 30 yards before turning.

I asked a Daiwa rep the same thing.  Officially he said they don't recommend using the 2500 and 3k spools interchangeably because there is a slight difference in diameter, but they fit fine.  The most common issue, if any, will be a change in line lay and stacking.  The worst that can happen is gapping.

If I remember properly those aren't riveted but screwed. You can change the T shape grip for an I shape, all you need is to order the part, unscrew one and put in the new one.

Daiwa doesn't sell the knobs separately but you can get them from Ali Express and other places for cheap.
