rboat Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 We all know mono has a tendancy to twist using spinning tackle, some say they use a braid on spinning gear, my question is does braid also twist, and if so how bad and how does it compare to mono? your thoughts? Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 No, there's no line-twist with spectra braid...Nada Roger Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 I've used Fireline on one of my spinning reels for three years. Although it's a fused line, not a braid, it's still a superline and presumably has similar characteristics to braid. There has been zero twist on this reel, a reel which twists mono. However, the Fireline is subject to loops and tangles like mono. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 I have had no twist with Stren's Superbraid. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 i have seen braid twist when using internal tube jig weights all day but it doesn't ruin it like mono.it won't cause it to tangle up on you.to untwist you cut off your lure and let out the line then reel it back between your fingers. Super User FishTank Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Of the braid I have used (Sufix and PowerPro), once you get it wet, it seems to be good to go. Quote

I just beleive that fish aren't line shy. Quote

He outfishes most others when he fishes too. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Forget Fireline! Use 10-15lb. Power Pro. I never had problems! Quote
