Anyone use a MH F , XF spinning rod - if so , what technique ? I have a 6'6" MH, XF Shimano Compre. I use it as a "general purpose" rod when I'm on foot patrol ( bank fishing ) paired to a Daiwa Exceler 2500/Shimano Sahara 2000 spooled with 8 or 10 lbs test nylon. You can fish ALMOST anything but small/light baits with that rod, the issue is that it's pretty much pool cue stiff and doesn't flex easily so light baits like a 3" senko, a baby fluke an 8 cm minnow jerkbait can't "load" the rod and it takes a lot of elbow grease to cast them far.
