What is the best over all line for spinning gear you would recommend? I fish mostly weeds and woody cover in Southern Illinois. I typicaly fish medium or medium heavy rods. I just bought a shimano MH compre.

thanks,

My spinning gear is all

Light, Medium-light, or medium

and I don't use over 10# on them

I like P-line floroclear on my spinning gear.

Buy If i was to pick one line for "overal, on spinning gear" I would go with trilene XL"

I'm a fan of Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test) for spinning tackle. ::)

I don't think there is a "best" overall line. The most recent lines I've used are Trilene XL, Original Stren and Gamma Copolymer, as well as Fireline. Fireline is unbelievably abrasion resistant against vegetation and I've heard other superlines are too.

There is no "best,"  just "favorite."

During the vast majority of my life I used Trilene XL (nylon mono) on my freshwater spinning tackle.

Today I use spectra braid powerpro and would never go back (to me, there's no comparison).
