bass2187 Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 What is the best over all line for spinning gear you would recommend? I fish mostly weeds and woody cover in Southern Illinois. I typicaly fish medium or medium heavy rods. I just bought a shimano MH compre. thanks, Mike Quote
HPBB Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 My spinning gear is all Light, Medium-light, or medium and I don't use over 10# on them I like P-line floroclear on my spinning gear. Buy If i was to pick one line for "overal, on spinning gear" I would go with trilene XL" Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 14, 2007 Super User Posted January 14, 2007 I'm a fan of Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (11.9 lb test) for spinning tackle. : Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 I don't think there is a "best" overall line. The most recent lines I've used are Trilene XL, Original Stren and Gamma Copolymer, as well as Fireline. Fireline is unbelievably abrasion resistant against vegetation and I've heard other superlines are too. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 P-Line Floroclear is my favorite, 6, 8 or 10lb depending on the application. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 During the vast majority of my life I used Trilene XL (nylon mono) on my freshwater spinning tackle. Today I use spectra braid powerpro and would never go back (to me, there's no comparison). Roger Quote
