snowplow Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Hey guys, I just picked up my first spunkshad and I'm really impressed. I know these things for ChatterBait trailers. Is there any other way you fish them? 1 Quote
BayouSlide Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Chatterbait and spinnerbait trailers. No reason they wouldn't make a great swim jig trailer as well. 👍 1 Quote
Pat Brown Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 They work great anyway you could possibly rig a plastic. As with any plastic they reward experimentation and you may have to play around a bit to find a way that you can fish them that is sneaky / effective. Nose, hooked and weightless they would dance really nicely. They make great jig trailers on any type of jig you can imagine. I'm sure that if you threw it on the back of a t rig with an appropriate Hook you could catch a lot of fish flipping it. Don't see why it wouldn't work really well on a Carolina rig or a drop shot. Sky's the limit with little Shad shaped things you know? 😉 2 Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted June 26, 2024 Super User Posted June 26, 2024 Buzzbait trailer is my latest not mentioned above. 1 Quote
softwateronly Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 I also use it as a fluke, weightless and free rig, and jighead minnow both mid column and bottom contact and they get bit. Shakeyhead and jig trailer seem like no brainers scott Quote
HOV02 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Chatter bait or buzz bait trailer works great. 1 Quote
rangerjockey Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I'm not much on using a trailer on a spinnerbait but I do like them on a chatterbait Quote
Smirak Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I love them. I was in Chattanooga a month or so ago and ran by hog farmer. Let’s just say, I have more than my wallet wanted at the time… 1 Quote
TNBankFishing Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Keitech model 3 swim jig trailer. Completely different action from a paddle tail and I find I can go super weedless and pitch it into some wood and get solid bites a more compact pitching jig won’t entice. Quote
Super User Koz Posted July 1, 2024 Super User Posted July 1, 2024 I have a few bags of the Missile Baits version and I use them for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and drop shots. Quote
padon Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 jig head minnow and no you dont have to have ffs to catch fish that way. and the smaller one works well for me on a drop shot. Quote

Whatever you do - do not put the small spunk shad on a weedless ned head from @Siebert Outdoors and reel and shake it just below the surface around pieces of cover. 😜😜😜 Definitely do not do that - it's not fun! 🎣🎣🎣😂😂😂 Quote
Leeboy Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 I also rig with Core Tackle Hover Rig or Ultimate Swimbait head. Quote
