Bob l. Posted January 13, 2007 Posted January 13, 2007 Being new to the forum, i'd like to say hello to everyone. I'm new to baitcasting reels, using spincasting set-ups for trout fishing out west. Now that i'm living in central new york i'd like to get into bass or pike fishing. I just bought a Pflueger Trion reel and Shakespeare (Lite) Medium action rod, spooled with 12 lb spiderwire mono. Your comments or advice would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote

Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Hey Welcome to the porums. I dont know how to pull an old thread up yet maybe another member can The single most important article that helped me is by Reel Mech it really sets up the basics, There is also a wealth of facts in the articles section on the home page. The most important source is thew collective experience on this site Just ask they will help you The main thing that has been helping me IS PRACTICE<PRACTICE and more PRACTICE to get your thumb EDUCATED Just don't do what I did when I started getting the hang of it I took all the brakes off and wound up with 70 Yards of Mono in one big %#^&^ Ball!
