I bought a boat with a Garmin Echomap 73sv and the issue I have is whenever we go through the slightest choppy water it will shut down. You can immediately restart it but of course that takes several minutes. Both the pins and connectors look very clean and it snaps into it very well. Any suggestions as it is very frustrating, especially in the bays where there are oyster reefs. No issue in really smooth water or while sitting still.

Check all connections between the Echomap and the battery - not just the plug at the end...to me, it sounds like something is loose somewhere in the run.

That includes checking any switches and the fuse box.

Make sure it’s secure in the cradle. Definitely sounds like something is loose somewhere.

Could be the cradle.  I had to replace the cradle on my 93SV because of intermittent temperature reading failure.  New cradle is a different design.  It is much easier to mount the unit to the new cradle.
