Looking for some finesse football jigs that come in 1/2 oz and have a stout 2/0 or so hook on them.

Have tried the keitech ones and really like them, but the hook is pretty light wire.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I was on the hunt for this exact thing a few months back. Check out the Riot Baits Lil Creeper. I wish it had a slightly stouter hook but I'd call it a medium wire. Good baitkeeper and it's tungsten for a little more sensitivity. Comes in 1/2oz

Picassos Am FB jig is really good.  The hook is a 2x 3/0 but its closer to a 2/0 IMO and its well stout.  The tungsten is high quality and hard so the feedback is great, paint will chip a bit on rock, but just epoxy them if you worry about that.

I’d prefer a weed guard in line with what most football jigs have on them.

Basically what I’m looking for is a downsized version of a traditional football jig which would hold up to 15-17 lb test and a medium heavy rod.

Plain jigs: Santone weedless football is compact uses Gamakatsu hook or

Dobyns standard length / Gamakatsu #604 hook. Both 3/0 in 1/2 oz.

Dressed or plain jig @ TW

Tom

PS, 1/2oz isn’t finesse to me.

i second these. not a super stout hook but i fish it on bait casting with 14 pound flouro no problem. much stouter hook than the kietech.

I always have a riot baits little creeper 1/2 oz blue steel tied on with either a riot baits little fuzzy money color or a reaction innovations smallie beaver in tramp stamp color.   I have caught more bass on that than any other lure I own.  I now buy a dozen at a time when needed.

Have a look at the Jewel Pee Wee jig.  We’ve caught 105 bass on it in the last two trips to Table Rock.

Looks like they’ve redesigned the bait and changed to a new hook from what it used to be. Did not like the old hook - it was pretty light. This one looks better in the picture. Will have to give these another try!

Aside from a decent hook would also suggest something w/ powder coated paint especially if it's around rock and other stuff that could scratch up the paint. Not sure what the hook size is but a Dirty Jigs Tour Level Finesse Football Jig in Okeechobee 420 would be my current choice...with a 3.5" adrenaline craw.
