The next two weeks, every day is supposed to be between 99-103°, except for one day of 96°.  And we're still more than a month out from what is normally the hottest part of the year, which is a little scary.

On the bright side, my grass should go dormant soon.  So I should be doing a lot less mowing this year!

We hit 102 a few times this past week. The weather for the next few weeks is calling for temperatures 92-99. It might be time for me to rig my deck lights on my kayak and do some night fishing.

I haven't been out on my kayak lately, so I don't have the water temp but I have been bank fishing in my back yard and the water is hot. Water depths that I can cast to from my yard are 2 feet - 18 feet deep but it's been a no man's land for bass. I did pull a one pounder out from under my dock yesterday, but that's the first bite I've had from the bank in 2 weeks.

We had a big storm roll through the other day with 85mph winds.  It knocked the power out all over the city.  It was a day before they got it back on.  A day with 102° temperatures and no A/C.  I couldn't even run a fan!  And since we got all of that rain, the grass is green again.

On the plus side, I'm adapting to this heat.

In Florida the heat has been here for months.  Water temps in the 90*s everyday.  Black bass don’t like, but Peacock love the heat and the sun.  They will hit on the hottest days at noon, with no wind.  You can’t get a bass to strike, just put a noisy top water and work it fast.  Peas will come to play.

Make sure you bring extra cold fluids, and don’t wait to start drinking.  The monkey will definitely jump on your back!  Florida fishing is good, just change your focus!
