Meticulously maintained and full of waypoints…

I know about A-Jays old graphs.   They're not full of waypoints...........they're full of hollow points.

I literally believed that this was a real lake and used to look it up but could never find it. Found out the truth last year when some kind posters helped this idiot ironbjorn out.

I also googled it at first. Not because I wanted to fish it (I don't have a boat), but because I was curious how far north in relation to myself he was. I don't remember what clued me in to the fact it was a joke, but I figured it out eventually.

Finally, and I firmly believe this,

THERE ARE LAKE MENDERCHUCKS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

Agreed...to a point. Michigan, by dint of its guhzillion lakes and FOUR Great Lakes, is a special fishery.

I suspect that A-Jay could tell you where it is, even put you on the bow of his boat, but you'll catch a two-pounder.

Big Fish Jeff turned me on to the Mexican Bass fishing insanity over 10 years ago.

Sharing some of the The Best LMB fishing days I've ever experienced

is something that's hard to repay a man for.

I felt it was only right I do my best to return the favor.

When he's on the bow of the Lund, I hardly even cast.

He complained about the blindfold at first but eventually he got used to it.

I adopted the name after seeing that first Live episode.

Been a thing here ever since.

While I always knew what @A-Jay meant by it, I did spend some time trying to identify the lake featured in the Zona Live epsiode that was originally dubbed "Menderchuck".  It was identified at some point in the comments of the video, and it turns out not to have a public access launch.

That alone makes A-Jay's Lake(s) more worthy of the Menderchuck moniker, to my mind.

EDIT:  FYI, for those who haven't seen it, "Menderchuck" is first coined here at about 33:50.

So a similar story of a mystery lake in Indiana that was real.

It was urban legend about a lake/strip pit that had a boat launch over an old discarded cemetery.  The road to it was like going rock crawling in a Jeep.  DNR always claimed it was real and that they stocked it but would never tell anyone where it was because it was supposedly haunted. Yet here it is.

Of course it’s haunted! It’s named Moody cemetery for a reason.

Lake Menderchuck should be easy to find.  It is no big secret.  Just look at the pictures he posts.  It is in Michigan, surrounded by trees along with a few cabins, has giant small mouth bass, a few big brown trout, and an over sized musky or two.  I recommend calling the Michigan DNR and give them this information.  They should be able to narrow the search.  Then look for AJ's pick up at the boat ramp.  I don't see what the difficulty is.

The real search and FAR more elusive is for Andy's immense knowledge. Put me on the real Lake Menderchuck and I'll catch bass, but I won't catch the immense bass that Andy catches.

The funny thing about Lake Menderchuks (for me, at least) is that finding them and catching that first really good bag produced the peak high.  Then you’re back to Google maps trying to find the next one to figure out.
